Activities

We provide a variety of activities that relate to the lapidary arts.  The buttons at the left will link to additional information on our Shows and Field Trips.

Monthly general meetings are held where speakers, demonstrators, video programs or slide shows are offered.  Our Calendar shows our specific monthly meeting activity.

Because we have a good time with our rockhound friends we have several social activities - pot-luck dinners, a club yard sale, a holiday party.  These are also noted on our Calendar.

Annually we have two silent auction events as programs at our general meetings.  Lapidary related items are donated by club members for the benefit of the club treasury. These are typically auctions where slips of paper are placed with each item, and participants write their bids and name.  Some items with initial minimum bids are placed in a special area.  The length of time for bidding is determined by the Ways and Means Chairman.  When the time period is over, all bidding stops and the final, largest bid on an item determines the winner - and the proceeds are given to the Treasurer for our general fund. For most years these auctions are held in April and September.
